Socioeconomic and technological profile of a semi-mechanized rice production system: The case of West Java, Indonesia

This paper updates information on rice farming in intensively cultivated and irrigated areas in West Java, Indonesia. Specifically, the project aims to describe farmers’ socioeconomic characteristics; assess current yield and quantity of inputs used; analyze costs incurred and income earned from rice farming; determine farmers’ technology adoption pattern; determine government support available to farmers; and recommend strategies that can further improve farmers’ production and income.
