This booklet updates the 2011 Philippine rice industry primer, a PhilRice publication that helped researchers understand the trends and current status of the rice sector, with additional data and information about major issues in the recent past. It covers data on rice production, area, yield, production losses, rice consumption, prices, farmers’ practices, production cost and income, and comparative performance of the Philippines and selected Asian countries.
